Three grains of rice

you should pour in my bowl:

your smiles, your words

and your thoughts.

Nothing more I request

for my joy.

Only what’s true

and heartfelt I need.

I’m a simple,

fragile jasmine

in a huge field

I crave for the touch

of a gentle hand.

Graze my petals

to enhance my scent.

Scold me when I fail but

praise me when I succeed.

Hold me tight but

set me free.

I’m a bird with uncertain wings.

Love me when I fly  but

if I fall, love me more.
